What is 3D printing?
3D printing is a type of fabrication that builds a physical object layer by layer.
A single spaghetti-like string of plastic filament is fed into a heated chamber and comes out of the nozzle as a thin molten line of plastic.
Motors connected to that nozzle lay down that plastic layer by layer very precisely, slowly building up and up as each layer underneath cools...
When the print is done, you have a 3-D object. You can modify the computer file any time to change the shape, size and structure, and print in a variety of materials!
